The Uppsala University Library was founded in 1620. Today, it is the largest and oldest University Library in Sweden. Its most famous treasures include the world famous Silver Bible (Codex Argentus) from circa 520, The Carta Marina and the Jerusalem Map.
The University Museum, containing several permanent exhibitions: The history of the university, the Anatomical Theatre, the Augsburg Art Cabinette, and the university collections of Nordic, Classical and Egyptian antiquities.
